Leadership

January 5

I am thankful for leaders who have helped shape my life and continue to do so. I see good leadership qualities in others and sometimes in myself. True leaders don't get their people to follow by indimidation or coercion or fear but by displaying character and showing interest in their followers so that they willingly follow the leader. Those are the type of leaders that followers would follow into the depths of despair and darkness for.

It is not easy being a leader. There are usually some in the group that go about doing things their own way. Witness the loan duck (behind the second duck) that is facing the opposite direction and going about doing his own thing.

leadership

before you tell me

where to go

before i see

what to do

to follow you

know me

like me

discover who i am

care for me

as i learn to care for you

as we trust in one another

i’ll be there for you

you for me

and i will call you my brother.
