Climbing

October 21climbing,clematis

I am thankful for climbing. Climbing is defined as using hands or feet to ascend or go higher. This can be taken literally, ie., scale mountains or go up trees. Or it can taken figuratively to mean that you are improving yourself and succeeding. The second definition is really the one I am referring to here.  None of us really wants to descend; many of us are content to keep the status quo; but those who truly succeed are those that want to ascend. Sometimes, just having the will to go beyond one's comfort zone is all that it takes to succeed. It's that first step you take on your climb.

This is a clematis flower from our garden. Bebe got me interested in this flower which I have photographed many times over the years. This photo is my latest effort. I also used the back side of a clematis in a previous photo of the day blog on 5/28/13 to represent alternative points of view. Clematis comes from the Ancient Greek word meaning climbing plant. Thus, the reason why I used it in today's photo. It is a climbing vine, in other words.

climbing

i am climbing

hand over hand

upward and higher

got to move on up

got to keep on going

don’t want to go down

don’t want to hit ground

no time to sit still

no time to for broken will

so its up up and up

higher and higher

can’t stop

can’t stop

no return

no tire.
