Experiences

I am thankful for the experiences that we undergo on our journey of life. Every experience that we go through has some sort of meaning or consequence to our lives, if we try to learn from them. As we make our way further down the hall, we should have become much more "experienced" from what we have been through. Because of those experiences, we should become much wiser the further along that we get.

This is the hallway in the hotel that we stayed in in Gulfport, Mississippi during our anniversary trip this summer. I think of the hallway as our journey of life, beginning to end. But the rooms off to both sides represent the experiences that we undergo. A straight hallway with no detours or side trips from beginning to end would be quite boring. So it is the composition and sum total of those experiences that add character and purpose to our lives.
