Gardens

I am thankful for gardens. They are beautiful, peaceful, and refreshing. The beauty of the flowers is calming and exciting. I'm not one to really enjoy the work that creating a garden involves and I do not enjoy weeding. But I definitely enjoy the fruits of Bebe's labor. Ha ha!

This HDR photo was taken recently at BREC's Independence Park Botanical Gardens in the rose garden section. It's nice that the roses are still blooming in November-December.

the garden and me

i am planted

among the roses

the chrysanthemums

and irises

we sprout from seeds

that drink and eat

and grow

and among the plants

each one individual

unique

and separate

but collectively

we form a mosaic

the plants and me

and we will bud

and bloom

and blaze

in inflorescence

we will shout to the sky

of glory

and magnificence

the garden and me

and our time will come

when we will dry out

wither

and fall

but we will know

that we were radiant

but however fleeting

we made our marks

the garden and me.
