Persistence

March 10

I am thankful for persistence. It is that quality that keeps us going even in the most dismal and improbable circumstances for success.  I will have to say it may not be one of those charactistics that I exhibit very often, as I often give up too soon. However, I admire it so much in others. Like in my friend and fellow co-worker who tried to get into medical school umpteen times unseccessfully, but never gave up and never stopped trying. He finally made it..

This photo is of a vine growing through, between, and around a chain link fence. Even though it has been cut, you can see by the its thickness that it never gave up.

persistence

i give up

i said in exasperation

how can i ever have success

in so much desperation

how many attempts

does it take you to succeed?

a wise man asked of me

i said i don’t know indeed

he answered wisely

you must learn to plant the seeds

for success takes as many attempts

as many times as it needs.
