Art Shows

April 25

I am thankful for art shows. I enjoy museums and art shows, where you can see talented artists displaying their crafts. Art is life in miniature and can be quite moving, if done well.

My wife Bebe, has been invited to display her art at the Baton Rouge Art League art exhibtion for the past three years. She was an accountant who rarely picked up a paint brush but several years ago began painting. She is completely self taught but has honed her abilitities. After first painting furniture, objects, and canvas, she has since moved into her niche - fiber art,  combining painting with thread art done on the sewing machine. It may be difficult to see from this photo but the process includes shading with thread and the thread gives it a three dimensional qualty. This photo was taken this past weekend at the art show of Bebe and her thread art picture of 'Roses on My Fence." Below is a closeup of one of her pieces to show the detail and three dimensional quality of her work. If you are interested you can see some of her work at: http://artisticpatchwork.com/.
