Hospitality

November 15hospitality,red door, protection of god,st. joseph's cathedral

I am thankful for hospitality. Hospitality sends the message that you are important guests and that you are welcome visitors. It says that you are important enough to care about. It accepts you with open arms.

Red doors signify many things but one of them is hospitality or simply welcome, please come in. In colonial America a red door meant a safe haven was on the other side of the door. In China a red door represents welcome and luck. If a church has a red door, it means that beyond the door there is the protection of God. My fraternity in college, Sigma Phi Epsilon traditionally has red doors. And finally, in Scotland, if someone has a red door, it siginifies that they have paid their home off and are debt free. The most welcome sign of all!

This is a red door at St. Joseph Cathedral in Baton Rouge.

red door

red door says come in

there are friendly people within

it says open me and stay a while

it says we want to make you smile

it says god will protect you

and watch over all that you do

the protective hand of god

all this in one crimson façade.
