Observation

November 16observation,white pelicans, man in kyak with camera;university lake

I am thankful for observation. Sometimes my powers of observation are not so good. But there are some things that I love to notice and observe. Nature is one of them. Photography improves observation and seeing details. However, often as a photographer, I find things in my photos that I didn't notice when I took them. From those instances, I think photography has improved my ability for observation. I think we need to observe  closely to really appreciate nature.

The white pelicans have returned to Univesity Lake! However, this photo was taken last December. I saw this man photographing them with his camera or cell phone while in this small boat or kyak.

observation

frankly, my dear

it’s through the power of observation

that i shed no tear

when you are near

there is a genuine admiration

and a true fixation and veneration

it is true

all for you.
